Piero Massaro Eyeglasses

Five Piero Massaro frames are online. Piero Massaro designs and makes his eyewear in the Venice area, with a focus on handwork and one-off detail that he sees as the heart of genuine Italian craft. His frames have been recognised repeatedly at the Silmo d’Or in Paris, with awards in 2012 for optical frames, a special jury prize in 2014, sunglasses in 2018 and hinge innovation in 2021, plus a Japan Eyewear Award in 2019.

Four of the five are acetate and one, the PM902 in Dark Blue, combines acetate with metal. The colours are few and strong: Red on the PM904 square and the PM918 cat-eye, and on the two PM916 rounds a split plate, Aqua / Crystal and Red / Crystal, where transparent acetate runs into colour. Because acetate is cut from a solid plate, that boundary is the same through the whole rim, and an optician can warm the frame to adjust it.

Small rounds, a square and a cat-eye

Three of the five are round, one is square and one is cat-eye. Eye sizes run from 42mm to 51mm with a median of 47mm. The two PM916 rounds are 42mm, among the smallest frames in the store and the smallest on our crystal frames page; the PM904 is 47mm, the PM902 50mm and the PM918 51mm. All five frames are one of a kind, so what is listed is exactly what is in stock.

A frame ships as a frame, free and insured within the US with a signature on delivery, for your own optician to glaze, and returns are accepted within seven days of delivery, less a 15 percent restocking charge.
