About l.a.Eyeworks
l.a.Eyeworks opened on September 9, 1979, when Gai Gherardi and Barbara McReynolds, friends since high school, rented a former spray booth on Melrose Avenue. Both had worked in an optical shop and wanted to change what glasses could look like.
Their frames are designed by hand and produced in limited editions, and are known for bold shapes, imaginative use of materials, technical invention and expressive color.
