About Sale

Everything in this part of the shop is on sale. Today the sale is one brand, KUBORAUM, in eyeglasses and sunglasses, several dozen frames in all. The prices come down from about a quarter off to around half off, depending on the model. Each product page shows the sale price beside the one it was, so you can see what has come off before you decide. There is no code to enter and nothing to ask for. The price on the page is the price you pay.

One thing before you go further, because it is the thing people get wrong most often: a sale frame is a final sale. It cannot be returned and it cannot be exchanged. Everywhere else in the shop you have seven days and a fifteen per cent restocking fee, and no frame can come back once lenses have been fitted to it. On a sale frame there is no return if you change your mind, so it is worth being sure. A frame that reaches you damaged, faulty or not the one you ordered is a different matter, and is covered on a sale frame exactly as it is on any other.

Almost every frame we hold is a single piece. There is one of it, in that colour, at that size, and when it sells it is gone. The sale does not change that. If you are weighing one up, measure against a pair you already wear: the three numbers printed inside the arm, eye, bridge and temple, are the quickest honest guide. Across the shop the eye sizes run from the high thirties to the low sixties, and these frames sit inside that range.

What arrives is the frame. Eyeglasses come with non-prescription demo lenses or none at all; bring them to us in Arlington or Dumfries, or take them to your own optician, to have your prescription fitted. Sunglasses arrive ready to wear with their own tinted, non-prescription lenses. Shipping within the United States is free and insured, and every frame goes out from Virginia, having been through an optician's hands first.

Can I return a frame I bought in the sale?

Not if you change your mind. A sale frame is a final sale, so we cannot take it back on a change of mind. If it arrives damaged, faulty, or is not the frame you ordered, tell us within seven days with photographs and we will arrange the return at our cost and refund you in full, or send a replacement if one exists. That holds on a sale frame exactly as it does on any other. We cannot swap one frame for another either, but that is true right across the shop: almost every frame online is a single piece, so there is nothing to swap it for.

Why is this frame on sale?

Because we have put the brand on sale. The price is the only thing that has changed. It is the same frame, from the same shelf, in the same condition it was in at full price. It is not a second, it is not damaged, and it is not an older specification of the same model. We buy our own stock and set our own prices, every frame having been chosen and handled by an optician, and sometimes we decide a price should be lower.

Are the sale frames the same as the full-price ones?

Yes. They are the same stock, off the same shelves as everything else, and nothing has been bought in specially for a sale. They arrive the same way, too: eyeglasses with non-prescription demo lenses or none, sunglasses ready to wear with their own tinted lenses, and free insured shipping within the United States. The differences are the price and the terms behind it, since a sale frame is a final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

How much is taken off?

It depends on the model. The prices come down by about a quarter off and reach around half off at the deepest. Each product page carries both figures, the price now and the price before, so nothing has to be worked out. No code is needed and no discount appears later at the checkout; the sale price is the price. Shipping stays free and insured within the United States. There is nothing further to be had on top of the figure shown.
